What is Chamoy?
Chamoy is a Mexican sauce/condiment used to flavor all sorts of different foods. From grilled meat and fruit, to your favorite Jolahan Candy!!! Chamoy is an explosion of sweet, salty, tangy, and spicy all in one sauce!
Chamoy originated in Asia (they say) and over the course of a couple hundred years, made its way to Mexico and is now used on a wide array of foods in the region. The ingredients used to make chamoy differ from each family's recipe to the next, but likely includes dried fruits such as apricots, mangos, plums and citrus. The addition of spices lend to its spicy kick.
